Director, Donidalorsen Patient Services

SUMMARY:

The Director, Donidalorsen Patient Services is a strategic leadership role reporting to the Executive Director, Head of Patient Services, and is responsible for designing, building, and directing comprehensive Patient Services and the overall Service Model for the Ionis product, Donidalorsen. The successful candidate will input strategic patient services expertise and advisement into the Donidalorsen brand planning process via the Brand Team, as well as being accountable for the execution of Patient Services to support the potential Donidalorsen launch and brand-level services performance.

Responsibilities:

Service Model Design & Innovation

Apply innovation and expertise to develop exceptionally supportive service models for patient services (including, but not limited to hub, affordability, personalized support, patient education and digital support programs) in support of Ionis’ launch brand, DonidalorsenIntegrate with, and collaborate as a member of, the Donidalorsen brand team to ensure the patient service model design is aligned with brand strategyLeverage patient insights/market research to co-create services with potential Ionis patients and customersRegularly revisit service model to enhance/re-design based on market or internal factors and in close consideration of patient needsDrive key initiatives through the Ionis Patient Innovation lab, applying voice of the customer insights and direct customer co-creation to identify new solutions to the challenges faced by patients and the HCPs that treat themService Implementation

Support the implementation of the patient service model, including but not limited to:Business rule developmentPatient journey workflow mappingRoles and responsibilities definitionTechnology requirements

Coordinate implementation of services with Ionis operations and vendor partners, including but not limited to:Requirements definitionCross-functional/cross-vendor coordination and integrationTechnology system and operational user testingCompliance / privacy / security assurance (in conjunction with cross-functional partners such as Compliance, Legal, Information Technology, etc.)

Service Measurement and Refinement

Continuously monitor, review, maintain, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures related to patient support servicesEnsure the continuous improvement of patient services processes and systems through collaboration with the Ionis patient services operations teamDefine and measure functional key performance indicators (KPIs) of patient services offerings and operationsDevelop a voice of the customer program to gather feedback to understand pain points and identify solutions for arising challenges and issuesCross-functional Collaboration

Provide subject matter expertise on patient services to all stakeholders, escalating concerns as necessaryWork with internal and external Patient Services partners to ensure seamless, extraordinary patient and customer experiencePartner with a broad set of Ionis functional leaders and partner teams to ensure best-in-class patient servicesQualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MHA, PharmD, PhD) strongly preferred7+ years working in the pharmaceutical industry, with experience in Patient Services program design and operational execution including managing/operating patient services vendor relationshipsSuccessful product launch experience in the US required, preference for specialty drug launchExperience with rare disease, orphan, or ultra-orphan products highly desirableAbility to translate innovative ideas into actionable plans, executed with detail-oriented, strong project managementDemonstrated strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skillsProficiency in data analytics, data tools, and innovative methodologiesSelf-motivated & collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skillsOutstanding customer relationship, communication, presentation and writing skillsAbility to effectively work with diverse audiences and influence cross-functionallyDemonstrated cross-functional leadership and collaboration skillsComfortable managing multiple projects and delivering strong resultsProficient in MS Office Suite

The pay scale for this position is $149,791 to $229,518
