Job Description:
Are you a passionate AI/ML expert ready to support the leading edge of scientific and healthcare advancements in the Federal Government today?
ECS is seeking talented and driven professionals to support the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H). In this role, you will serve as a scientific and technical advisor to ARPA-H-enabling the agency to manage and provide oversight to advanced R&D efforts; help shape future R&D concepts, programs, and solutions; integrate and advance our nation's healthcare ecosystem processes, policies, and enabling technologies; and enable the agency to expand its healthcare and scientific scope into yet unknown areas. As a "systems engineering and technical assistance" advisor, you will provide support and thought leadership to R&D performer teams, Government Program Managers, and stakeholders across the health innovation ecosystem. This role supports the Proactive Health Office (PHO).
What you will do:
Serve as AI/ML Expert:
Advising and guiding program initiatives related to the integration, adoption, and institutionalization of AI/ML techniques, methods, and solutions within the healthcare setting.Healthcare applications include but are not limited to enhancing medical imaging for disease detection, building chatbots for patient education and appointment scheduling, or creating machine learning models to predict patient outcomes and personalize treatment plans.Analyze and interpret complex healthcare data:
Ideate and establish initiatives improved to enhance diagnosis, risk assessment, and drug discovery.Utilize healthcare knowledge and machine learning methods to identify patterns and insights from vast datasets of medical records, genomics information, and wearable device data.Stay current with scientific advancements:
Actively track and analyze new research findings in this field.Identify and propose emerging methodologies and technologies that could enhance the program's progress.Participate in scientific discussions and presentations, contributing your expertise to the program's overall knowledge base.Collaborate effectively within a diverse team:
Build strong relationships with computational scientists, engineers, and other scientific advisors involved in the program.Communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.Actively participate in brainstorming sessions and problem-solving exercises to drive the program forward.Salary Range: $100,000-$180,000
MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related scientific field.9 years minimum AI/ML experienceDemonstrated ability to conduct independent research, analyze data, and write scientific reports.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong work ethic and a passion for healthcare and scientific discovery.U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency is required per contract.
