About the Facility: Orlando VAMCThe Orlando VA Medical Center (VAMC) is a comprehensive healthcare facility dedicated to serving the medical needs of veterans in central Florida. Located in Lake Nona, approximately 20 miles southeast of downtown Orlando, it is part of the VA Sunshine Healthcare Network. The center offers a wide range of services, including primary care, mental health services, women's health, cardiology, orthopedics, and specialized care in areas like PTSD and substance abuse treatment. In addition to outpatient services, the Orlando VAMC provides inpatient care, rehabilitation, and advanced surgical options. Diagnostic Radiology Physician - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to)
The Radiology Physician provides radiology readings for body imaging or musculoskeletal (MSK) radiology, including but not limited to CT scans, ultrasounds, and general radiology (plain films).Provide consultations and instructions to referring physicians on appropriate indications for CT, general radiology, ultrasounds, and other radiologic procedures, as well as assisting in expediting clinically appropriate workups.Determine the appropriate course of treatment and communicate it effectively in person or via phone to referring clinicians.The Radiology Physician provides comprehensive radiological interpretation of studies for inpatients and outpatients of all ages, from newborn to elderly.Obtain patient history for radiographic diagnosis, perform physical examinations if required, and obtain necessary laboratory test results.Assess the severity of illness and, when appropriate, contact patients and referring physicians to provide study results.Oversee radiographic examinations to ensure correct procedures are conducted, relating symptoms to the pain and/or illness of the patient.Recommends and directs patient care and treatment, consulting with the requesting physician before a procedure to minimize patient invasion.The Radiology Physician provides technical direction for technologists and ancillary personnel in the department during their duties.

Completion of a Radiology residency program.
Must have a fellowship in either Body Imaging, MSK, or Neuro Raidology.
Must have a 3 years' experience as a Radiology Physician.Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Radiology by the American Board of Radiology (ABR).Must have a current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.Must possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia.
