POSITION SUMMARY:The role of the Project Manager is to plan, direct, and coordinate activities of designated projects to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:A Project Manager must demonstrate knowledge in Project Management principles, practices and methods, engineering project management methods, and personnel management. A project manager must be flexible and able to work well in a fast-paced environment. He or she should be competent in handling simultaneously occurring tasks and smaller projects, and have excellent written and oral communication skills. This position requires analytical and mathematical skills, quick thinking, and a solid understanding of the main principles of engineering. A successful project manager should also seek out available professional development and continuing education opportunities.
1. Project Management• Through informal communication and regular meetings, ensure of the compliance of their project with schedule and budget.• Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.• Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.• Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.• Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget. Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required.
2. FinanceInvolvement in regular internal meetings with Projects and Finance to review the financial status of all projects.
3. Engineering• Support Engineering and Automation in coordination of technical decisions.
4. Scheduling• Review project schedules to ensure of compliance and feasibility.• Monitor progress, foresee potential problems, and when required, coordinate corrective actions with parties involved.
5. Purchasing• Monitor regularly purchasing activities and meet with personnel to ensure proper operation• Review and requisitions to ensure compliance with company standards and policies• Preparation of necessary information and "Request for Quote" documentation for manufacturing and significant commercial purchases.• Assist or negotiate directly with suppliers and vendors for high value and/or critical contracts.
6. Quality Assurance / Quality Control• Confer with Quality Assurance coordinator to ensure that all QA/QC requirements are met.
7. Manufacturing, Installation and Commissioning• Selection and coordination of manufacturing activities.• Coordination of resources for Installation and Commissioning.• Construction related problems (commercial and technical).• Monitor progress and management of final stages to ensure proper closure of projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:1. Necessary Requirements• Combined 3+ years of project management and/or comparable management experience along with a verifiable record of results in both disciplines.• Bachelor degree in Engineering• Strong technical background that should include knowledge of industrial capital equipment & components and a good understanding of cross-functional responsibilities is required.• Experience with international projects• Commercial contract knowledge and experience• Intermediate user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint) and MS Project• Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)• Ability to adapt to changes and work with people to overcome challenges• Professional interpersonal skills (oral & written communication and persuasion skills) to build internal and external relationships. Actively listens, probes and identifies concerns. Understands our core customer's business and speaks their language; Develops credibility, loyalty, trust and commitment.
2. Optional Requirements• MBA degree• Experience with metal processing / plant operations environment• Project management certification (PMI) degree• Experience with SAP (Systems, Applications and Products)• Experience in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)• Negotiation Skills• Business Finance Experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT:General office environment or while working in production environments, the colleague may be exposed tomachinery, moving equipment and material, moderate noise, airborne particles, fumes and various levels oftemperature created by the manufacturing process.
TRAVEL:25% Travel required typically for a week at a time to customer offices or production locations, Fives productionlocations, etc...
