Hardwood Department Supervisor
JOB SUMMARY:The Hardwoods Swing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department. Some responsibilities include but are not limited to motivating the hardwoods order pulling team to drive sales and service through effective and consistent communication. They may be involved in the hiring and recruiting new employee as well as coach and develop existing employees to build a bench for future growth and promote the company as an employer of choice. The Supervisor must work closely with all management teams throughout they yard to identify areas of opportunities with inventory levels, processes, and hospitality to support the overall success of the Ganahl Lumber Hardwood team.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
•
Conduct daily walks and communicate a game plan for the hardware team that upholds maintenance and in-stock expectations.•
Consistently support Hardwoods Manager in observing the hardwoods team and help deliver real time feedback on ways to improve hospitality.•
Work with Hardwoods Manager and Vendors to help the hardwoods team establish and maintain a backup source for high-demand items and help establish the right inventory levels to support customer need.•
Develop and maintain healthy working relationships with his/her staff, vendors, co-workers, and other department employees.•
Operates equipment when necessary.•
Work with Hardwoods Manager to ensure Product Directory, Cycle Count and all company initiative commitments are achieved.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:•
Excellent communication•
Understanding of inventory control procedures.•
Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.•
Extremely organized and forward thinking.•
Ability to develop and sustain professional relationships.•
Ability to perform math calculations.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:•
High school diploma or equivalent required.•
Minimum 1-2 years of related experience•
Proficient with computer technology•
Strong verbal and written communication skills•
Must meet physical requirements, lifting required•
Must be detail oriented•
Experience with computerized inventory systems required•
Forklift/Lift Equipment/Pallet Jack required.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:•
Requires periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.•
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.•
