Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial and Commissions Analyst to support our financial operations and commissions management. This hybrid role combines key functions of financial analysis and commissions processing to provide actionable insights, support accurate payments, and contribute to strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate has a strong analytical background, proficiency in data management, and a collaborative mindset. T his is a Hybrid role in Chicago, IL.
Responsibilities:
1. Commissions Analysis and Management Process, validate, and analyze commission data to ensure accurate and timely payments to agents, brokers, and internal sales teams. Develop and maintain detailed commission reports, identifying trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement. Act as a point of contact for commission-related inquiries, resolving discrepancies, and providing guidance to internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate with the sales team to improve commission structures, assist with plan adjustments, and ensure alignment with business objectives. Continuously monitor and improve the commission calculation and reporting process, enhancing efficiency and accuracy. 2. Financial Analysis and Reporting
Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial data to support business planning and performance evaluation. Develop financial models and forecasts to aid decision-making processes related to revenue, costs, and other key metrics. Support month-end and year-end close activities by providing data insights and variance analysis. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and maintain budgeting and forecasting processes that align with organizational goals. Conduct ad hoc financial analyses to support special projects, identifying key trends and recommendations. 3. Data Management and Reporting
Work cross-functionally to solve data issues and discrepancies. Support team members on how to interpret and use financial and commission data effectively. 4. Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to streamline and automate processes for both financial and commissions analysis. Assist in the development and implementation of best practices in reporting and data management. Provide insights and recommendations to enhance data-driven decision-making across the organization. Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration major or related field. 4 years progressive accounting or finance experience preferred 2 years experience with commission or incentive payment systems preferred Technical Skills and Knowledge:
Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel(macros, pivot tables, complex formulas). Experience in Financial modeling, Power BI (preferred), and ERP systems; familiarity with commission software is a plus. Experience in the insurance, healthcare, or financial services industry preferred Knowledge of commission structures and sales incentive programs. Power BI (preferred) and other data tools to develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools Behavioral Competencies
