Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Mainframe Engineer to join our team in Merrimack, NH. The successful candidate will generate ad hoc reports for compliance, process batch update requests, and support mainframe modernization efforts. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to migrate reporting and batch update functionality from mainframe to distributed platforms, offering opportunities for skill expansion in PowerBI and other distributed technologies.
Key Responsibilities
•Develop and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, DB2, JCL, and VSAM.
•Generate ad hoc reports and process batch updates for business compliance.
•Partner with teams to migrate mainframe functionalities to distributed platforms.
•Respond to client inquiries, ensuring excellent service and communication.
•Support Agile development practices and manage tasks using Jira.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
•Demonstrate commitment to quality and continuous learning in mainframe and distributed technologies.
Required Qualifications
•8+ years of mainframe software development experience with COBOL, DB2, JCL, and VSAM.
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills for client-facing interactions.
•Ability to manage multiple tasks in a collaborative and adaptive environment.
•Experience in Agile methodologies and Jira.
Preferred Qualifications
•Familiarity with SQL, File-aid, Eztrieve, and SPUFI.
•Knowledge of Business Objects, PowerBI, Snowflake, and AWS.
•Interest in PowerBI and transitioning to non-mainframe development.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Education:
Bachelors Degree
