About the Role
As a Senior Principal Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for defining the next generation of Harman's professional audio products, including power amplifiers and mixing consoles. Responsibilities include developing engineering requirements, specifications, and product architecture documentation. This position is involved in all steps of product development from concept to manufacturing release. Systems engineers act as subject matter experts with deep knowledge of audio systems, industry standards, and emerging technologies.

What You Will DoDevelop system requirements, specifications, and architectures for professional audio products.Work closely with engineering design teams to implement products while meeting cost and performance requirements.Act as technical product owner through all development phases from inception to mass production.Collaborate with global product line managers (GPLM) to define product roadmaps which will fulfill business strategy, enable growth, and position products in a competitive market.Investigate and stay updated on emerging standards and technologies.Define testing strategy and lead effort to troubleshoot bugs and system-level issues on prototype builds.What You Need
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.Bachelor's degree in engineering field.Minimum of 12 years of relevant engineering experience.Deep experience in development of electronic hardware in the domains of audio, signal processing, high-power amplifiers, networking, compute, or power suppliesExperience authoring technical documentation for an engineering audience.Understanding of the steps required to take an electronics product from concept into production on time and at the desired cost.Familiarity with electronic design and simulation toolsFamiliarity with issue tracking and collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence.Experience with Jama Connect or other requirements tracking software.Ability to effectively build relationships and motivate internal and external stakeholders globally.Demonstrated interpersonal, leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.What is Nice to Have
Master's degree in electrical engineering.Experience developing audio products for professional or consumer marketsExperience with high-power class-D audio amplifiersExperience with DSP frameworks and processing flows for audioFamiliarity with audio test and measurement tools and techniques (i.e. Audio Precision)Familiarity with professional audio production techniques and workflows for live sound reinforcement, studio recording, or cinemaFamiliarity with audio acoustics pertaining to speakers and microphonesWhat Makes You Eligible
