AHL Healthcare Group is seeking an experienced Payroll Clerk to join our team in Duluth, MN. AHL is a local provider of adult foster care, assisted living, and independent living skills services. This position is responsible for all aspects of payroll and will assist with some aspects of accounts payable. Requires excellent attention to detail and organization skills. Performs various accounting and other job duties as needed.
Responsibilities:
Perform all aspects of Payroll and other accounting functions.
-Entering new hires in the payroll system, verify information with the time-keeping system;
-Updating changes to employee payroll records as needed;
-Collecting and verifying timekeeping information for all employees, reviewing bi-weekly time summaries for accuracy and completeness;
-Entering the payroll information into the payroll system for the bi-weekly payroll;
-Balancing payroll prior to submission;
-Submitting payroll through direct deposit or manual checks;
-Reconciliation and payment of all taxes and deductions;
-Reconciliation and filing of all quarterly tax forms;
-Review and calculation of bonus as required;
-Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in payroll;
-Year-end reconciliations and filing of all required tax forms
-Benefits administration including recording, updating and payment of invoices.
-Review of all invoices for appropriate approval and general ledger coding
-Provides various reports to Controller and/or others as requested.
-Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Associate Degree Required
3 to 5 years payroll experience
Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide
Prior experience with Quickbooks strongly preferred
Basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including data entry, sorting, creating and modifying spreadsheet
