The Revenue Cycle Analyst reports to the Revenue Cycle Director and supports the Revenue Cycle Team. This position's contributions include production of various reports from multiple systems and data sources to assist in identifying trends, enhancing visibility, and developing automation for the Revenue Cycle department. Report creation, data analysis, workflow automation and data visualization are key functions of this role.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
Data Management and ReportingAnalyzes claim data and presents reporting that demonstrates trends, deficiencies or areas for improvement in the revenue cycle.Designs and implements automated workflows and reports based on the needs of the department and agency.Builds dashboards to help visualize data that guides leadership decisions.Develops reporting that highlights potential payer relations concerns and informs contracting negotiations.Builds reports within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system and builds Revenue Cycle specific reports within Tableau.Attends cross departmental meetings and engages in projects related to revenue cycle improvement or impact.Works closely with external Revenue Cycle Management team to ensure all new billing regulations and guidance are reflected in the billing system accurately and timely.Develops reports for management teams, financial teams and clinical teams related to revenue cycle.Extracts and analyzes data from multiple data sources.Compiles, audits, provides correction support, and prepares multiple reports used to support various contractual billings and invoices.Support and maintenance of the billing system within the EHR.Reviews, updates and maintains the billing tables and set-up requirements related to service codes, fee structure and liability distribution in the billing system.Data Review and Error Resolution
Reviews and interprets data and suggests ways in which reporting could be streamlined or automated.Provides assistance/support related to data issues.
Processes, Documentation and Training
Learns about and stays abreast of requirements, procedures, etc., to ensure Sound meets requirements for data reporting and accurate billing.Works with the Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team to ensure data collection and reporting needs are met and are in compliance.SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS
Completes assigned special projects independently or as a contributor to, or lead of, a project team.Performs other duties as assigned.KEY WORK RELATIONSHIPSEstablishes and maintains positive, ethical, and professional working relationships with Finance team, including RCM, Business Applications team, clinicians, Sound management and team members, clients, vendors, and other professionals.Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in related field required or five (5) years of related experience in lieu of degree.Minimum of one (1) year of experience in report creation, data analysis, data management, and relational database structure and management,Experience working as an analyst in a healthcare setting is required.Experience with SQL and Crystal Reports required.Some experience with Business Intelligence tools (ex. Domo, Tableau) preferred.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESKnowledge and experience in a healthcare revenue cycle setting with a basic understanding of billing and coding for services.Knowledge and experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Management tools.Knowledge in report creation, Crystal reports, and SQL interfaces such as WinSQL.Strong knowledge of data and security concepts as they apply to HIPAA.Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn and apply specific data requirements.Proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience with Electronic Health Record systems (myAvatar preferred).Excellent verbal and written communication and personal interaction skills, with an emphasis on customer service and support; ability to communicate technical information to non-technical persons.Excellent analytical, time management, and organizational skills; detail oriented with consistently accurate results.Ability to define problems, collect and analyze complex data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, with the ability to provide guidance to others involved in a problem-solving process.Ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with employees at all levels, clients, and vendors, and with varying educational, professional and economic backgrounds.Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision, manage multiple duties and priorities, and maintain high standards for accuracy, productivity, and confidentiality.Ability to function as a member of a team, leading within the scope of the position and contributing whenever possible.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS
