Our client is a metal products manufacturer that primarily serves the defense and military sectors. With over 100 years of experience, they have contributed to notable space age projects as well as everyday metal requirements. Currently, they are experiencing substantial growth and are reinvesting in their facilities and workforce to uphold their strong relationships with key customers. The Director of Quality will be instrumental in shaping C-suite strategy while also managing operations at the ground level.
Job Description
Oversee all quality operations, from quality control, engineering, continuous improvement, customer engagement, compliance, and high level strategyManage key customer accounts with OEM aerospace manufacturers and government bodiesGenerate, improve, and implement standards across 3 sites to reduce quality issues and improve the quality processMaintain compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and NADCAP systemsImprove overall quality culture with operators, inspectors, technicians, engineers, supervisors, and middle managementDemonstrate strong business acumen in written and verbal formLead continuous improvement initiaties to reduce cost and improve efficiencyConduct hiring, firing, and performance reviewsManage department P&LHelp to develop individual and team talents through training, performance monitoring, KPIs, and real-time feedbackMPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The Successful Applicant
Must Haves:
10 years leadership experience in Quality within metal manufacturing environmentsStrong business acumen with excellent communication skillsBachelors degree in Engineering or related fieldStrong Continuous Improvement aptitude with preferred formal Six Sigma TrainingExperience with AS9100, or NADCAP quality systemsExperience building and developing quality cultureNice to Haves:
Knowledge of forging, and casting processesExperience working directly with government partiesLow Volume, High Mix ExperienceMasters Degree in Engineering or related fieldWhat's on Offer
