Web Manager
Position Summary
The Web Manager is responsible for the management, maintenance, and optimization of Cairn University's website. This role ensures that the website is user-friendly, ADA-compliant, and aligned with the institution's strategic goals. The Web Manager will work with cross-functional teams to keep the website content up to date and technically sound, while also overseeing integrations with key university platforms, including CRM systems and analytics tools.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesWebsite Management:
Oversee and manage all aspects of the website, ensuring it is current, functional, and user-friendly. This includes updating, removing, and creating new content across all pages.Content Management:
Ensure that web pages and information are consistent with Cairn University's branding and messaging, collaborating with content creators and university departments.Performance Monitoring:
Use web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to monitor site performance, user behavior, and traffic. Provide reports and insights to relevant teams to support decision-making.User Experience (UX) Design:
Ensure the website is user-friendly across all devices, focusing on improving navigation and user pathways for prospective students, faculty, staff, and other audiences.Platform Integration:
Oversee integration between the website and CRM systems (e.g., Slate) to enhance user engagement and data tracking.Web Development Coordination:
Work with web developers (internal or external) to implement new features, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal functionality and security.Compliance and Accessibility:
Ensure that the website complies with ADA standards and other accessibility requirements, maintaining a high standard of usability for all users.Form Management:
Manage and update web forms (e.g., Formstack), ensuring data is captured effectively for university departments.CMS Management:
Maintain and update the content management system (CMS), ensuring all users have access and the necessary training to manage specific areas of the website.Multimedia Management:
Oversee the uploading of digital media such as podcasts and videos, ensuring proper integration into the website.Skills and Abilities
Technical Expertise:
Strong knowledge of web development basics, including HTML, CSS, and experience with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress or Drupal.SEO and Analytics Knowledge:
Basic understanding of SEO principles and experience using web analytics tools to track performance.Problem-Solving:
Ability to troubleshoot technical and content-related issues.Communication Skills:
Capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.Required Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in web design, digital communications, computer science, or a related field.3-5 years of experience managing websites and web content, preferably within a higher education environment.Experience working with web development tools, accessibility standards, and web analytics platforms.Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of web accessibility and ADA compliance.Experience integrating CRM systems with websites.Familiarity with higher education websites and related technical requirements.
