What You Will Do:
As a Project Manager, you are responsible for:
All aspects of multi-discipline projects and clients from the proposal process to project closeout.You will plan, direct, and coordinate activities including client meetings, public hearings, and public involvement events so that projects move forward within the prescribed time frames and budgets.You will anticipate client needs, biases, and preferences and tailor communication and work output accordingly.You will lead, coordinate and delegate work to multiple work teams working in multiple locations.You will work directly with municipal client staff to deliver CIP programs and or projects, potentially on-site in a staff augmentation setting.Formulate, track and meet program and project budgets and schedules;Maintain open and effective communication with clients as well as internal and external stakeholders.Prepare or coordinate preparation of project / client correspondence and documentation.You will participate in and lead business development activities to new and existing clients through the following activities: plans, leads and participates in client meetings and networking events;Develops new client contacts and relationships in all areas of expertise.Understanding of alternative funding sources for municipal projects, and ability to secure funding.As you advance in your career, you may also act as extension of client City engineering or public works staff in a managerial role and as a Client Manager, responsible for delivery of services across several WSB discipline to the client.
This position can be based out of our Baxter, MN office.
What You Will Bring:
The successful candidate must have:
A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited school,Registration as a professional engineer in Minnesota (or the ability to obtain registration within six months) and5+ years municipal experience; direct experience working for a municipality is a plusOur preferred candidate would have experience in managing municipal CIP programs and projects, clients and staff in this marketA history in delivering projects with positive customer service experiences,A positive attitude, as well as a willingness to learn.The ability and desire to develop an understanding of, or even anticipate the client's needs, is a plus.
