POSITION OVERVIEW:

Gold Star Foods is looking for a self-motivated Staff Accountant to join our Accounting & Finance team. In this role, you'll play an important part in our company's financial operations, ensuring accuracy in accounting and compliance with the law.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES: Posting journal entries and accruals Bank account, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Inventory, and General Ledger reconciliations Maintain and reconcile fixed assets accounts and roll forward schedules Maintain capital leases ledger entries and roll forward schedule Review and record employee and contract labor payroll journals Assist with other month-end closing activities and provide management with reports, data, and analysis as requested for month end closing and various audits Assist with preparing monthly balance sheet, income statement and changes in financial position/budget variance analyses Work with the appropriate department to research and resolve discrepancy issues timely Responsible for generation of month end reports in absence of AR lead or when requested Review daily issues and works with the team to resolve Document issues beyond his/her control, and reviews with the Division Controller in a timely manner Work with the Assistant Controller in completing a clear year end audit Other duties as assigned REQUIRED SKILLS:

Foodservice distribution experience (Preferred) and/or supply chain experience (Plus) Experience with inventory cost accounting and understanding of accounting for manufacturing (Required) Intermediate/advanced Microsoft Excel skills (i.e. pivot tables & vlookups) Hands-on experience with accounting and ERP software (Microsoft Navision / Dynamics 365 Business Central is a plus) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to demonstrate advanced analytic skills, including excellent mathematical skills Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with multiple levels and multiple departments within an organization Strong understanding of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) EDUCATION/EXPIRENCE:

3 years' experience Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business (preferred)

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position will be in an office setting at a desk equipped with computer, monitors, phone, and other applicable resources/equipment. It will require the applicant to routinely sit, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and bend for up to 8 hours. Position requires the occasional lifting of objects up to 10lbs.
