About The Role

FTI Consulting Construction, Projects & Assets ("CP&A") is a leading global provider of Disputes, Advisory & Transformation services that address the strategic, financial, operational, regulatory, and capital needs of key players in the Power & Utilities, Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Mining, Manufacturing, Transportation, High-Tech/Semi-Conductor, Infrastructure, Real Estate & Industrial Sectors. What You'll Do

As Director, you will provide clients with guidance across various spheres of business. Your role will involve identifying and solving complex project disputes. You will frequently lead complex workstreams within larger engagements, managing client expectations, allocating resources for delivery, and overseeing day-to-day operational activities.

Your expertise will be pivotal in reviewing project schedules, identifying critical paths, and validating actual progress against planned timelines. You will collect and analyze data on resource utilization and productivity, developing clear findings and narratives to support project evaluations. Additionally, you will prepare presentations for status meetings and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive project improvements.

Key Responsibilities:Contract Analysis:

Read and interpret construction contracts, plans, specifications, and related documents to ensure comprehensive understanding and compliance.Collaborative Information Gathering:

Collaborate with project and construction teams to collect essential data for schedule analysis and identification of potential claims.Root Cause Analysis:

Conduct independent analyses to determine the underlying causes of project delays or issues, ensuring thorough investigation.Cause-and-Effect Analysis:

Perform detailed cause-and-effect analyses to establish a basis for entitlement in claims.Schedule Review:

Review project schedules to validate actual progress, assess delays, and evaluate changes.Critical Path Identification:

Identify critical and near-critical paths within project schedules to ensure timely completion.Data Collection and Analysis:

Collect and analyze data related to resource utilization, efficiency, and productivity to inform decision-making.Findings Development:

Develop clear findings and comprehensive narratives to support project evaluations and claims.Presentation Preparation:

Prepare engaging presentations for status meetings, clearly communicating project updates and analyses.KPI Analysis:

Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess project performance and drive improvements.Expert Report Review:

Review and analyze opposing expert reports to inform strategic responses and negotiations.Claim Development:

Lead the development of claims, ensuring all relevant documentation and evidence are accurately represented.Time Impact Analysis (TIA):

Prepare Time Impact Analyses (TIA) to quantify the effects of changes on project schedules.Mentorship and Development:

Foster professional growth and development within the scheduling department by encouraging skill enhancement and knowledge sharing.How You'll Grow

What You Will Need To Succeed

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.8+ years of relevant post grad experience. Which includes: a combination of Consulting, management, and Industry-specific experience.High proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar project scheduling tools.Proven experience in project scheduling for construction projects.In-depth knowledge of construction claims and change orders related to scheduling impacts.Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.Industry experience in oil and gas, manufacturing, chemicals, mining, power and utilities, data centers, fab facilities, or infrastructure.Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, CAPM) or scheduling (e.g., PMI-SP).Knowledge of Lean construction principles and methodologies.Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and its applications in project scheduling.Strong negotiation skills and experience in stakeholder management.Ability to mentor and train junior staff in scheduling practices.Familiarity with contract management and legal implications in construction projects.#LI-LL2
