1. General job duties.
Types of procedures required.Caring for 5 to 6 patients that require in-patient hospitalization for medical or surgical issues/procedures.
2. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.Pyxis medication station, Meditch charting, Alariz IV pumps, remote telemetry system.
3. Required skills and minimum years of experience.Minimum of at least 1 year acute care, EKG competent
4. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)ACLS, BLS
5. Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required?
If so, how often? Are weekends required?)Most be willing to work every other weekend or one weekend shift per week.
Weekend shifts are Saturday and Sunday.
On a unit with up to one other nurse and LNA/UC.
6. Floating to other units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?)All med surg remote tele units on 2nd floor and 3rd floorOccasional float to PCU (required) if needed
7. Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.2nd floor has 4 units, 2E = 20, 2S = 14, 2C = 23, and 2N = 17,
3rd floor has 3 units CDU = 20, 3N= 20, 3S = 23
8. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only)5-6:1
9. Dress Code:Navy blue
10. Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program.2 to 3 shifts of orientation on the floor.
Must attend 8 hours of hospital orientation on a Monday.
