Basic Purpose:
Morgan Stanley is seeking an experienced professional to join its Funds Financial Reporting Group. The role involves the detailed review of financial statements, shareholder reports, and quarterly holdings for a diverse set of registered investment companies within the Eaton Vance complex. This position requires strong attention to detail, adherence to deadlines, and compliance with SEC and U.S. GAAP standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
Financial Statement Review:Independently review financial statements and shareholder reports for approximately 45 SEC-registered Funds.
Ensure reports are accurate, complete, and consistent across the board.
Regulatory Compliance:Verify adherence to SEC reporting requirements and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Research and Analysis:Investigate technical accounting and disclosure issues, providing resolutions to complex challenges.
Auditor and Administrator Support:Address inquiries and resolve issues raised by auditors and third-party administrators.
Documentation:
Complete detailed checklists to document review processes.
Collaboration:Maintain strong working relationships with external stakeholders, including fund auditors, custodians, administrators, and service providers.
Policy Adherence:Follow firm-prescribed policies and procedures diligently.
Job Requirements:
Education and Certification:BS in Accounting required; CPA designation preferred.Experience:
4-6+ years of audit or financial reporting experience in the investment management industry.
Skills:
Strong organizational skills and an exceptional aptitude for detail.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Demonstrated initiative, self-motivation, and ability to work independently.Effective team player with a collaborative mindset.Supervisory Experience:
Experience managing or mentoring junior staff is a plus.
