Job Title: Director of Quality

Job Summary:

The Director of Quality will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality across our organization. This position requires a seasoned quality professional with a strong automotive background, extensive problem-solving skills, Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred, and a proven track record of success in driving down production and field quality issues, reducing cost of poor quality, and enhancing overall product quality.

Requirements:Technical degreeManufacturing experience is must.Strong business acumenWill lead Internal Production Quality, Supplier Quality, and Systems QualityAutomotive experience highly preferred in manufacturing (Tier 1 supplier minimum)Experience with audits ISO9001, IATF16949, implement these systems and standards in the organization.Implement Quality Management Systems incl document management, revision control etc.Experienced leading & implementing Process Flow diagrams, FMEA, Control Plans, Process audit sheets.Experienced ERP user eg Power User, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle etc.Experience dealing with customer quality and responses - claims, issues, 8D responses.Strong Root Cause Analysis skillsIdeally Six Sigma Black Belt and trained in other problem-solving techniques eg RedXDemonstrated experience implementing production floor systems - SPC, MES solutions, Traceability.Experience dealing with suppliers, holding them accountable to meet quality standards.Great communication skills - working with customers, and suppliers and other stakeholders.Data analytics - compiles KPI's, eg failure cost, cost of poor quality, warranty cost, supplier chargebacks etc.Key Responsibilities:

Quality Leadership: Provide visionary leadership in developing and implementing a comprehensive quality management system that aligns with industry best practices and company objectives.Problem Solving: Utilize a wide range of problem-solving methodologies to identify root causes and develop effective corrective and preventive actions to eliminate production issues and enhance product quality.Cost Management: Understand the cost implications of quality failures and poor production practices. Develop strategies to minimize scrap rates and warranty costs while optimizing production efficiency.Communication: Maintain effective communication channels with customers, internal teams, and suppliers to ensure quality expectations are met. Develop and manage scorecards to track and communicate quality metrics.Quality Tools: Expertly implement top-quality and production tools such as Statistical Process Control (SPC) and layered process audits to monitor and improve production processes.Design and Process Control: Lead the development of robust design and process control plans. Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify potential failure modes and implement preventive measures.Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (A master's degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Engineering is preferred).Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.Minimum of 5 years of quality management experience in the automotive industry.In-depth knowledge of quality tools and methodologies.Proven track record of success in improving product quality and reducing warranty costs.Strong problem-solving skills and experience in root cause analysis.Excellent communication and leadership skills.Ability to develop and implement quality management systems.Experience with scrap rate reduction strategies.Proficiency in Score Card development.Familiarity with automotive industry standards and regulations.
