Position Summary/Purpose:
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will work under the guidance of a licensed Physical Therapist to deliver high-quality care and support to our patients.
You will assist in implementing treatment plans aimed at improving patients' mobility, relieving pain, and preventing or minimizing permanent physical disabilities. Your responsibilities will include guiding patients through therapeutic exercises, administering treatments, and providing education to both patients and their families.
Qualifications:Education: Associate's Degree from Physical Therapist Assistant ProgramCertification / Licensure: Current New Mexico Physical Therapist Assistant licensure & BLS certification required.Skills: Demonstrates accountability and skills in continued assessment, decision-making, and time management. Should have strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, and organizational skills.Benefits:

Counsel patients and their families on what to do following treatment.Observe the patients they are working with before, during, and after therapy and report notes to the Physical Therapist.Assign specific exercises for the patient and help the patient do these exercises.Use devices, such as walkers, and other equipment to help patients regain movement and reduce pain.Use a variety of techniques, including stretching exercises and massage, to treat patients.Assist patients when moving to and from the therapy area.
