Location:Cambridge LakesQUALIFICATIONS:Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.Illinois state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.Experience working with children, particularly in a school setting, is highly desirable.Strong knowledge of speech and language development, assessment techniques, and intervention strategies.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices.Familiarity with special education laws and practices.Bilingual skills are a plus.REPORTS TO: Director of Student Services

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Speech-Language Pathologist will work with students in grades K-8 to assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language disorders, fostering effective communication skills essential for academic success and social interaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to identify students' speech and language needs.Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student's goals and requirements.Provide direct therapy services to students, focusing on articulation, fluency, language development, and social communication skills.Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to integrate strategies into classroom instruction and everyday activities.Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to ensure effective outcomes.Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary teams.Case manage IEP plans and interventionsEducate staff and parents on communication strategies and the importance of speech and language development.Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations regarding service delivery and documentation.ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Classroom-based with regular interaction throughout the school.Attendance at meetings and events outside regular school hours.PHYSICAL CONTEXT OF THE JOB:

Regular travel within the school building and occasional off-site meetings.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
