Safety DOT Manager
who is responsible for the management and compliance of Safety programs and Transportation regulations are adhered to for all locations of Mullens Markings. The
Safety DOT Manager
will report to the General Manager, and office in Culpeper, VA.
Safety Requirements:
In cooperation with management, manage and implement current safety policies and work to develop necessary tools to enhance the safety culture.Designs and directs programs specific to reducing accidents through safety training, skills training, proper job instruction, new employee indoctrination, job safety analysis and innovative technology.Order and always maintain adequate PPE stockDesign and implement effective metrics to track progress, proactively identify areas of concern and drive accountability.Identify and evaluate hazards (risks) and implement effective controls (corrective solutions).Lead incident investigation process, including cause analysis and identification of corrective action plans.Assist facilities management team in ensuring required regulatory permits are acquired, required reports are submitted to regulatory agencies and any site permit conditions (e.g. recordkeeping, process safety management (PSM), stormwater, special waste, etc.) are met.Drive and promote zero-incident health, safety, and environmental culture throughout the company.Assist with the development and presentation of Corporate and site-specific training programs as needed.Interprets trains and consistently enforces Company policies and proceduresDOT Compliance Requirements:
Develops, executes, and maintains effective driver safety training programs in compliance with FMCSR and the companies' policies including annual physicals, drug screening, annual reviews and drivers' licenses to comply with all federal and local laws. In addition to participating in regulatory audits as necessaryEnsure driver logs are completed timely, including reviewing logs to ensure they follow Federal DOT regulationsTrains drivers in proper usage of logging systems in Company vehiclesProvides support for ELD problem resolution, including providing recommendations on coaching for corrective action plans as necessary with management and HR.Investigates and tracks and reports all accidents and claims within the company. This includes ensuring that this meets the FMCSR requirements associated such as post-accident testing (drug/alcohol), and post-accident re-training, tracks costs and injuries, and develops and implements safety programs designed to reduce or eliminate accidents or injury.Maintain all required documents for driver files to maintain compliance with all DOT specifications which include pre-employment tests as well as annual compliance reviewsEnsure that all vehicles are updated with current registration and state and federal required documentsMaintain equipment file master (Hard copies and electronic)Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience equivalent to: Bachelor's degree or equivalent; and/or experience in the above Duties and Responsibilities.5+ years hands-on environmental and safety experience in a warehousing, manufacturing or transportation operation.5+ years with occupational safety, transportation safety, and environmental compliance preferred.Ability to travel up to 25%
