Leads and manages the Information Technology employees (Computer, Network, Support) for optimal efficiency and success. Responsible for the overall operation and administration of all Information Technology Department functions. Manages the information systems and departments resources, computer operations, and related support activities to ensure the company's needs, objectives, and processing requirements are met. Research, recommend, and coordinate (where appropriate) the implementation of technology or related enhancements to achieve the company's strategic objectives. Ensures that the company's technology related policies and procedures are current; monitors various technology processes to ensure efficiency and appropriate safeguards. Contributes to planning annual budgets and is responsible for the administration of that budget. Responds to questions and/or provides information and service upon request from our Team and our members.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Provides leadership and direction to the Information Technology Services areas (Computer, Network, Support) to ensure a trained, motivated, and professional staff capable of providing efficient and effective services to Team Guardian. Interviews, recommends hires, trains, schedules, coaches, counsels, evaluates, establishes performance expectations, and monitors results.Regularly monitors the operation of computer systems, internal and external websites and e-commerce servers, and audits the firewall and security logs, ensuring that on- line data communication capabilities are maintained constantly with as little down- time as possible and available capacity is utilized optimally whenever possible. Works with the Network and System Administrator to ensure up-time reliability of all member service delivery channels.Responsible for operation and maintenance of Local Area Networks including telephone communications. Responsible for strategic alignment of networking infrastructure and network security planning. Ensures that network security is in compliance with NCUA standards.Responsible for the effective operation and maintenance of all automated products and services including home banking, the organizations website and Intranet, the operation of ATM technical systems, and providing assistance as required in support of the Credit Union applications/systems.Installs and maintains all computer room hardware, software, and peripherals. Works with hardware/software vendors and field engineers. Requests upgrades to software and develops, implements, and modifies procedures as necessary.Develops, recommends, and implements new system features, enhancements and updates for member service delivery channels including but not limited to: internal and external websites, home banking, kiosks, e-mail, and telephone communications equipment. Coordinates the development of software programs for the generation of custom reports as requested. Responsible for the successful implementation of systems upgrades resulting in quality service to end-user staff enabling them to in turn provide high-quality customer service.Responsible for implementation and administration of efficient and effective company-wide technology policies, procedures, processes, compliance and business goals. Researches, recommends, budgets and implements technology policies, programs, procedures, and processes. Where appropriate, ensures that technology related policies and procedures are in compliance with applicable regulatory guidance and/or policy, and that appropriate system safeguards are in place.Develops and maintains the Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity plan.Aids in preparing Technology budgets and strategic initiatives in conjunction with the company's goals, and monitors performance of budget vs. actual numbers. Participates in the Credit Union's overall planning and budgeting activities.

Knowledge and Skills

Experience

Three to Five years of similar or related experience working in IT operations, including time spent in preparatory positions.

Education/Certifications/Licenses

Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience in a related field is preferred.

Interpersonal Skills

A significant level of trust, credibility and diplomacy is required. In-depth dialogue, conversations and explanations with customers, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors can be of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature. Communications may involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance. Typically includes subject matter experts as well as first level to middle managers.

Other Skills

Experience leading and managing teams and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies preferred. Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network, and system administration, databases, data storage systems, and phone systems. Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and project management skills. Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operation best practices required.

ADA RequirementsPhysical RequirementsIs able to bend, sit, and stand in order to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.Working ConditionsMust be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.Mental and/or Emotional RequirementsMust be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
