Supply Chain Specialist - III

Job Description:
The Supply Chain Logistics Specialist role is responsible for supporting the continued growth of Clinical and Commercial manufacturing operations by working with the internal teams, freight forwarding partners, Cold Chain solutions partners, and our contract manufacturing partners for global transportation of raw materials, API and commercial product to support drug product manufacturing and distribution.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
Coordinates multi-modal shipments, including preparation of shipping documentation for domestic or international shipments
Selects batches to send to assigned sites and monitors re-order points with drug product CMOs.
May identify discrepancies in global shipments and initiate the resolution process with suppliers.
Determines and initiates material disposals and sample shipments
Ensures record-tracking of pertinent data is being compiled in the logistics owned computerized systems (Oracle, SAP) and provides recommendations and guidance to share best practices.
Analyzes routine and non-routine information regarding shipment tracking to support Supply Chain activities
e.g. detailed review of customs invoice accuracy, supporting import documentation, tracking of shipments, ensuring material deliveries, and execute against the planned master production schedule and sales forecasts.
Makes recommendations affecting supply sources, product handling, etc.
Initiates or receives requests for routine changes affecting inventory replenishment, e.g. shipments, invoicing, movement of stock. Performs timely transactions in system to reflect changes.
Tracks progress with department supervisors, readjusts schedules and communicates changes according to production progress, change orders, product availability or other conditions impacting timelines.
May coordinate with other department representatives to identify future business needs.
Requirements:
2+ years of relevant experience in related field and a BS or BA
Works on assignments that range from routine to semi routine in nature where independent action and initiative are required in resolving problems and developing recommendations.
Works on assignments where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills are required.
Demonstrates a working knowledge with intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Able to develop solutions to moderately non-routine problems.
Normally receives no instruction on routine work, general instructions on new assignments.
Applies working knowledge of manufacturing and production operations and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) on a daily basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Fundamental understanding of Supply Chain Logistics, Transportation & Trade Compliance/Customs/FDA
APICS certification and/or relevant course work
Oracle and/or SAP knowledge
Knowledge of cold chain and pharmaceutical shipping requirements
