SUPPLY CHAIN PLANNER (LAUNCH HARDWARE)
The SpaceX supply chain department is a critical player in our operations. This role will be part of the launch site supply chain team and will be based out of Cape Canaveral, FL. You will be primarily supporting the Launch Hardware team. The Launch Hardware department is responsible for designing, building and activating ground support equipment and production tooling for our vehicle, launch pad and recovery teams across all programs (Starship, Falcon and Dragon). The functions within the Supply Chain team include procurement, planning, fulfillment, supplier development, supplier quality, inventory, and logistics.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage inventory level targets, review line of balances, align demand supply signals and allocations, maintain product master data, and develop expertise in in-house systems and reportsMitigate risk and ensure continuity of supply by constructing and executing to a well thought out supply plan that fulfills the needs of the product on time and with qualityExecute material resource planning (MRP) planning messages for production partsBe the "go to" resource for engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and new product introduction teams when determining best value suppliers, NPI sourcing plans, make vs. buy, should cost, buy complete strategies, lead times, etc.Champion value-add and value engineering projects to improve part quality and reduce costMitigate sole/single source risk and ensure continuity of supplyProactively update SpaceX management and engineering teams on all critical supply issuesDevelop and maintain strong supplier relationshipsVisit supplier's facilities and accurately assess technical capability, equipment, and capacityResolve purchase order discrepancies and invoice issuesAnalyze procurement data and report metricsEnsure compliance with all company policies and procedures and government regulations
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of experience working in a supply chain, production, or engineering functionPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
1+ years of experience using SQL in business analysis, product management, applications/software development, or enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems supportTechnical procurement, manufacturing, and vendor management experienceFamiliarity with machining practices, tolerancing, including GD&TFamiliarity with machining practices, tolerancing, including GD&TProven track record of leadership and team building skillsExceptional analytical, problem solving, and organizational skillsFamiliarity with ERP systems and purchasing/planning functionsKnowledge and skills in current technologies and applications (e.g. MS Office Suite, Access, SQL, etc.)Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skillsAbility to learn quickly and prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needsDetail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environmentConducts all activities with the highest levels of integrityADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape CanaveralMust be able to travel - up to 15% work week travel may be required, including international travelMust be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to meet major milestonesThis position is based in Cape Canaveral, FL and requires being onsite - remote work not consideredCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range:
Supply Chain Planner: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00/per year
