Microsoft AI is looking for a talented Growth Engineering Manager to help build the next wave of capabilities of our personalized AI assistant, Copilot. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical contributions alongside leadership. The Growth engineering team is responsible for user acquisition, engagement, retention, and feature development that drives rapid growth, while collaborating with our Product Management, Design, Data Scientists, and AI Research teams to deliver impactful results. Our newly formed organization, Microsoft AI (MAI), is dedicated to advancing Copilot and other consumer AI products and research. The team is responsible for Copilot, Bing, Edge, and generative AI research. Come be a part of the team shaping the future personal computing. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond. By applying to this U.S. Mountain View, CA position, you are required to be local to the San Francisco area and in office 3 days a week.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, Golang, Swift, Kotlin, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.3+ years of experience managing high-performing engineering teams. Solid understanding of mobile application architecture, backend system design patterns, and knowledge of effective engineering processes.Experience in growth engineering or a growth-oriented role, with demonstrated success in driving key growth metrics such as acquisition, engagement, and retention. A data-driven leader with concrete examples of successful initiatives and past growth achievements.Preferred Qualifications:Lead execution efforts across various teams, including backend, model, marketing, product, design, and other internal and external organizations within and outside of Microsoft. Proven experience in developing iOS and/or Android applications from the ground up, with a track record of achieving a high number of downloads and maintaining a large base of active users.Experience in internationalization and localization, scaling products, applications, and engineering efforts to drive global growth. Skilled in attribution for both paid and organic growth, with expertise in driving app virality and experience in monetization strategies and their implementation.Experience with vertical expansion, focusing on consumer use cases and specific categories.Passion for learning new technologies and staying up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in growth and AI. Proven ability to collaborate and contribute to a positive, inclusive work environment, fostering knowledge sharing and growth within the team.  Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation. Ensure high-quality code delivery and system reliability while maintaining performance at scale. Data-Driven Decision Making: Partner closely with data science teams to analyze user behavior, A/B testing results, and other growth experiments to optimize product features and drive user engagement. Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deliver new features that support growth initiatives.
