ELECTRICAL INTEGRATION & TEST ENGINEER (STARSHIELD)Electrical Integration and Test engineers are responsible for understanding every system on the satellite. Engineers on this team must have a working knowledge of design, schematics, operations, manufacturing, testing, and flight. A successful Electrical Integration and Test Engineer demonstrates engineering intuition and critical thinking and is comfortable working under ambiguous requirements with minimal oversight. Combining these skills, these engineers face challenges across a wide variety of work centers at the company, and the team is frequently asked to tackle new, inter-departmental development projects. The ultimate goal of the Integration and Test team is to ensure that satellites achieve their mission.RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage integration build flow and test operationsEvaluate proposed designs for manufacturability and integrationInterface with both engineers and technicians to optimize manufacturing and automationDevelop and refine manufacturing assembly procedures based on lessons learnedEnable day-to-day execution of the vehicle integration and test flowEvaluate non-conformances to determine root cause and create actionable items and system improvementsBASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, or electrical engineering5+ years of design and/or hands-on manufacturing experiencePREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:Ability and willingness to obtain a Top Secret clearanceMaster's degree in an engineering disciplineExperience with MATLAB, python, or other programming languageExperience with integration and testing of propulsion, thermal, electrical and/or structural systemsExperience integrating avionics systemsDocumentation and configuration management experienceExperience writing test plans, procedures and providing go/no-go judgment and rationaleExperience in a production environmentDemonstrated engineering intuition, critical thinking, comfort with ambiguityADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Some travel to other SpaceX sites may be required as needed, up to 10%Must be willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed to meet mission-critical deadlinesThis position is very hands-on and requires one to be on their feet for extended periods of time, up to 4 hours at a timeWill often work side by side with our technicians and must be able to climb ladders, stoop, bend, crawl, and work in tight spacesAn active clearance may provide the opportunity for you to work on sensitive SpaceX missions; if so, you will be subject to pre-employment drug and random drug and alcohol testingCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:             Pay range:     Sr. Electrical Integration & Test Engineer: $130,000.00 - $180,000.00/per year     Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Those with an active clearance will receive a 10% differential, up to an additional $15,000 annually, once officially briefed into a classified program.Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
