We have an outstanding Contract position for anAssemblerto join a leading Company located in theSterling, VAsurrounding area.
As an Assembler, you will be responsible for all activities related to the assembly of electronic components for selected programs.
Responsibilities :
Non-repetitive assembly operations
Working from diagrams and drawings
Mechanical assembly
Soldering to J-STD-001 standards
Building prototype assemblies
Cable assembly
Circuit board assembly
Complex wiring
Using hand and power tools
Using manufacturing software and Microsoft Office for work documentation
Diligent documentation for future builds
Basic Hiring Criteria :
High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1 year of prior relevant experience
Must have J-STD-001 and IPC620 soldering Certification or ability to obtain (position contingent on obtaining)
Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in building cables; know how to read drawings and cable run sheets using hand crimp tools, DMC, Molex, Terminal lug crimper, Tyco, Hirose, JST tool, and BNC crimper
Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in soldering PC board surface mount and through-hole components and Mil Connector
Desired Qualifications :
Current J-STD-001 soldering Certification (not required)
Rework experience
Ability to work and learn in a team environment
Ability to work with functional departments
Experience with soldering and assembling electronics/electronics components and familiarity with electronic assembly industry standards, including ESD practices and procedures
Ability to interpret drawings and follow written instructions
Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel, etc)
Costpoint experience is a plus
Ability to follow safety protocols
Ability to maneuver 25 lbs with assistance
Experience in defense contracting environment with multiple ongoing projects/contracts
Must have knowledge of the industry of electronic
Must be familiar with connector, Molex, Tyco, AMP, Cannon, JST, Hirose, Mil-spec, Cannon etc
