Job Description:
Collect and process spectral data (e.g., FTIR, Raman, X-ray, Mass spectrometry, etc.), including noise reduction, baseline correction, normalization, and feature extraction.Develop and apply statistical models, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization tools to process large datasets and extract meaningful insights. Understand acquired data with professional interpretation and analysis.Provide regular summaries and reports to internal teammates and cross-functional team based on the analyzed results.Collaborate with teammates for other in-house analytical tests when necessary.Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, Data Science, or a related field with a focus on spectroscopy and data analysis.3+ years of experience in spectroscopy data analysis OR Master's degree and 1+ years of experience. Strong background in various spectroscopy techniques (e.g., NMR, FTIR, Raman, UV-Vis, MS).Hand-on experience with statistical modeling, machine learning, time series and 2D data analysis applied to scientific data.Proficiency in Python, R, or MATLAB for data processing and statistical analysis.Ability to troubleshoot complex data sets and analytical challenges in spectroscopy.Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey technical results to non-expert stakeholders.Nice to have:
Knowledge and experience in battery materials and processComprehensive knowledge in characterization techniquesProficiency in JMP
This position is required to perform these above essential duties and responsibilities onsite at our QS offices.
Compensation & Benefits: Salary range for this role is between $97,900 and $120,000, and a final salary will be determined by the candidate's experience and educational background. QuantumScape also offers an annual bonus and a generous RSU/Equity package as part of its compensation plan. In addition, we do offer a tremendous benefits plan including employee paid health care, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), and other exciting perks.
