Position Overview & Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to coordinate, lead, oversee and ensure successful execution of projects that align with Christensen Farm's annual business plan and strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proactive ownership, drive projects from concept through implementation, ensuring timely delivery within budget while meeting business objectives. They will work cooperatively across departments to drive value and support the organization's strategic vision.
Major Areas of Accountability
Liaison and Stakeholder Engagement
Work closely with various departments to facilitate communication and ensure all team members are aligned on project objectives and timelines.
Engage with stakeholders to establish measurable goals and objectives for each project, ensuring alignment with the strategic plan and annual business plan.
Build and maintain relationships with business leaders to secure necessary approvals and support for project initiatives.
Project Planning and Documentation
Develop comprehensive project plans in partnership with key stakeholders, clearly outlining timelines, resource requirements, and deliverables.
Create and maintain essential project documentation, including project plans, meeting agendas, and action items, throughout the project lifecycle.
Facilitate meetings related to assigned projects, ensuring all relevant topics are discussed and documented.
Project Execution and Management
Oversee the execution of projects according to established plans and timelines, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and quality standards.
Monitor project progress and performance, documenting actions and decisions from meetings and communicating them effectively to all stakeholders.
Manage the completion of defined tasks within each project, addressing any challenges and escalating issues as necessary.
Risk Identification and Mitigation
Collaborate with project teams to identify potential risks to project success and develop effective mitigation strategies.
Proactively communicate project risks and status updates to stakeholders to ensure transparency and informed decision-making.
Operate with a high level of independence, driving project outcomes while minimizing the need for management involvement.
Continuous Improvement and Process Enhancement
Document and analyze existing business processes to identify gaps and recommend potential improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
Develop use cases and process flows for new initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Cultivate a strong understanding of functional areas to bridge business requirements with strategic initiatives effectively.
Education, Training and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in business or related field, or an equivalent amount of practical work experience.
Minimum number of years of prior job experience required: 2-3 years of project management in business solutions.
Expertise and experience with Project Management methodology based upon project management principles, including experience implementing and facilitating complex decision-making structures among multiple executive stakeholders with varied interests and priorities.
Required Skills:
Self-starter with the ability and persistence to execute on objectives
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to negotiate win/win solutions for tough problems
Proven ability to create highly cohesive and functional teams
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
Strong problem resolution skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Proven ability to ask questions - digging beyond quick answers and driving for complete answers
Experience developing and presenting training to groups.
Provides a deep toolbox of approaches and ways to both analyze and work around roadblocks
Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies.
Proficiency with Office 365 applications
Ability to navigate and learn new computer programs quickly, with minimal instruction
Preferred Skills:
PMP - Project Management Professional, or similar project management certification
Understanding of the live animal aspect of food production
Ability to produce high quality functional specifications.
In-depth experience with quality assurance principles.
Experience using Microsoft Project to develop project plans
