The Speech-Language Pathologist in the school setting isresponsible for performing student evaluations as well as providing anddocumenting therapy services in accordance with the plan of care developed foreach individual student and the physician’s orders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assesses students’ communication skills (e.g. articulations,fluency, voice, expressive and receptive language, etc.) for the purpose ofidentifying communication disorders, determining program eligibility anddeveloping recommendations for treatmentCollaborates with a variety of groups and/or individuals forthe purpose of communicating information, resolving issues and providingservices in compliance with established guidelinesCoordinates meetings and processes for eligible students(e.g. testing/screening, IEPs, parent conferences, pre-referral staffing, etc.)for the purpose of presenting evaluation results, developing treatment plans,and/or providing training to parents/students/staffDevelops treatment plans, interventions and/or educationalmaterials for the purpose of minimizing the adverse impact of communicationdisorders in compliance with regulatory requirementsInstructs eligible students in the use of appropriatecommunication technologies (e.g. hearing aids, FM systems, augmentativecommunication devices, etc.)Maintains files and/or records (e.g. progress reports,activity logs, billing information, treatment plans, required documentation,quarterly reports, screening results, etc.)Participates in meetings, workshops, and seminars (e.g.training, IEPs, team meetings, etc.)Provides speech and language therapy to students for thepurpose of minimizing the adverse impact of speech and language disorders onstudent success • Seeks appropriate in-service and professionaldevelopmentPerforms other duties as assigned/necessaryMinimum Requirements:

Active Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Licensure in thestate of assignment requiredCertificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-LanguagePathology (CCC-SLP) preferred and may be required by state/contract.Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpracticeParticipation and completion of Amergis’ Competency programwhen applicableCurrent CPR if applicableTB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicableCurrent Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)Must meet all federal, state and local requirementsSuccessful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob siteUnderstand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirementsAbility to effectively elicit/provide information to andfrom appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is requiredComputer proficiency requiredMust be at least 18 years of ageBenefits
