JOB SUMMARY
The Cross-Functional Team Member is an integral part of a diverse and dynamic team composed of individuals from different functional areas within the District. The primary role will be to collaborate with team members, contribute your expertise, and work towards achieving common goals. The Cross-Functional Team Member will participate in cross-functional projects, leveraging knowledge and skills to drive innovation, streamline processes, and deliver successful outcomes.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Collaborate effectively with team members from various functional areas, bringing together diverse perspectives and expertise to solve complex problems and drive project success. The primary role of the CTM-IEP System and Data Mangement will be to serve as the subject matter expert to support the district in integrating and implementing a new IEP management system.2. Manage large data sets, merging data across sources, and analyzing data for validity.3. Manage dashboards and develop reports that provide insight into key performance metrics and support progress monitoring for the department.4. Work collectively towards achieving common goals and objectives set by the team, aligning individual tasks and deliverables accordingly.5. Foster open and transparent communication within the cross-functional team, sharing information, ideas, and updates to facilitate collaboration and ensure everyone is well-informed.6. Execute assigned tasks and deliverables within established timelines, ensuring quality and accuracy in work.7. Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency enhancements, and innovation within the cross-functional team, contributing to ongoing improvement initiatives.

8. Share expertise, best practices, and lessons learned with team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning and development.9. Contribute problem-solving skills and analytical abilities to help address challenges and obstacles that may arise during projects, actively participating in finding effective solutions.10. Embrace change and adapt to evolving project requirements, adjusting priorities and approaches as needed to ensure successful project outcomes.11. Continuously expand knowledge and understanding of other functional areas within the organization, fostering cross-functional learning and collaboration.12. Collaborate across the office of special education services to develop strategic data analyses on key lagging and leading indicators aligned to the department's goals and action plan(s).13. Provide support and expertise within the functional area to team members from other departments, contributing to the overall success of the cross-functional team.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (depending on the specific requirements of the cross-functional team) or equivalent work experience
WORK EXPERIENCE
Experience working in education required (special education knowledge preferred) Experience working in cross-functional teams or projects, preferably within the education field. Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse functional backgrounds. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling clear and concise information sharing. Strong problem-solving abilities, with a logical and analytical mindset to address complex challenges including large data sets. Adaptability and flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced and changing work environment. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results within deadlines. Proficiency in relevant software and tools used by the cross-functional team. Continuous learning mindset, with a willingness to expand knowledge and skills in other functional areas.
SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION
Partner with the Instructional Technology, Data Management teams, and vendors to integrate a new IEP management system. Identify opportunities to connect data systems across the department and district to streamline data, coordinate and connect data sets, and ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency. Conducted complex data analyses that synthesized and summarized various Office of Special Education Services for a variety of stakeholders and developed and maintained a repository of reports.
LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES
Work Leadership. Regularly provides project management or team leadership to a group of two or more employees, but does not have formal supervisory responsibility. Leading and directing typically involves monitoring work and providing guidance on escalated issues. Most of work time is spent performing many of same duties they are leading.
WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT
Work involves the application of moderately complex procedures and tasks that are quite varied. Independent judgment is often required to select and apply the most appropriate of available resources. Ongoing supervision is provided on an "as needed" basis.
BUDGET AUTHORITY
No budget development activity is required
PROBLEM SOLVING
Decisions are made on both routine and non-routine matters with some latitude but are still subject to approval. Job is occasionally expected to recommend new solutions to problems and improve existing methods or generate new ideas.
IMPACT OF DECISIONS
Decisions have minor, small and possibly incremental impact on the department or facility. Errors are usually discovered in succeeding operations where most of the work is verified or checked and is normally confined to a single department or phase of the organizational activities resulting in brief inconvenience.
COMMUNICATION/INTERACTIONS
Collaborate and solve problems - works with others to resolve problems, clarify or interpret complex information/policies, and provide initial screening/negotiations without approval authority. Interactions are typically with customers, senior level professional staff, and managers.
CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS
Takes routine or required client actions to meet client needs. Responds promptly and accurately to client complaints, inquiries and requests for information and coordinates appropriate follow-up. May handle escalated issues passed on from coworkers or subordinates.
