High school diploma or equivalentQualifications

Enthusiastic, friendly, patient focused customer service skills.Exemplary communication skills, written and verbal - must be comfortable speaking to patients via phone and successfully communicate pertinent information.Professional, effective communication skills required to contact insurance companies to obtain patient benefits.Must be a team player with ability to collaborate interdepartmentally and with clinical staff.Capacity to multi-task with computer programs while providing patients the highest level of care and attention.Works well in a team environment to accomplish common tasks to solve problems and enhance the smooth and efficient flow of the department.Experience

Medical terminology knowledge and experience in Imaging required.Experience in Radiology information systems, Cerner, STAR and Patient Track preferred.Organizational skills, attention to detail, follow through, and ability to multitask.Strong attention to detail is highly important for this position.Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize effectively.Position Summary

The Patient Access Coordinator will be responsible for delivering a dynamic customer experience to all customers and demonstrate a strong commitment to service excellence.

Under the direction of the Admitting Department Leadership, the Patient Access Coordinator performs registration and clerical functions.

Responsible for the timely answering of phone calls, responding to e-mails and resolving scheduling inquiries and registration issues.Provide the registration team with add-on times for STAT cases and/or any other last minutes add on cases.Must be able to prioritize and handle scheduling/registration questions and contact the modality if necessary, to determine the best course of action.Ability to deal with ambiguity and last-minute requests.Ability to quickly build trusting relationships, gain credibility, and partner with clinical teams throughout all modalities to effectively support Scheduling and Clinical Teams with their Registration needs.Cross-train and help as needed with other registration responsibilities.Act as a communication liaison between the Registration Department and Clinical Modality Leads to ensure cases are effectively coordinated and successfully registered.Must communicate any issues or concerns to leadership.Performs other duties as assigned.
