The Technical Services Manager is responsible for various assignments within the R&D Department at Innovative Labs. Primarily this position will tend to the transition of formulas from the developmental stage to the production stage. The manager will support the batching of new and existing products by answering questions and addressing any difficulties during production runs. This position will also serve as a subject matter expert for both customers and formulators concerning questions of food science and production processes. This position will support the R&D Department while using tools and utilizing software to create formulas, evaluate materials, and ensure our customers' standards are being met. Additionally, the Technical Services Manager will lead a technical services team that will provide support to the product development process.

As a Technical Services Manager, you will:

Support development and commercialization of new product launches and line extensionsSupport pilot productionProvide technical support for internal and external customersAssist with the day-to-day activities of the R&D lab, including formulation development and measurements of key product parametersDevelop and optimize existing food and nutritional supplementsManage individual tasks and work under limited supervisionKeep detailed notes on projects and samplesFollow written and verbal instructions from supervisor, other departments, and customersCommunicate progress to departments within the companyMaintain Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), laboratory procedures and equipmentUse of basic lab equipment (brix meter, viscometer, pH meter, water activity meter, density meter, and stability chamber)Use critical thinking to determine and offer solutions for a wide range of product problemsImprove current products and processes by enhancing formulationsCreate samples for customersSource and evaluate new ingredients by working with suppliers/sales representatives to request material samples, pricing and documentationUse Genesis or other R&D software to generate nutritional and supplement labelsManage team under direct control, conduct employee reviews and perform corrective action when neededOther duties as assignedWhat we are looking for:

Math skills, ability to use formulas to create conversionsTime management, using time effectively to prioritize and ensure all projects are given adequate attention and are completed in a timely fashionStrong written and verbal communication skillsRecord keeping, maintain a lab notebook and other formula filesTechnical skills, strong computer skills (proficient in MS Excel and Word)Prioritization/organization, ability to work on multiple projects at a timeMust be hands-on, creative, resourceful, and results-orientedHighly motivated and independent performer who can work with minimal supervisionGeneral understanding of FDA labeling laws and other registration requirementsAbility to develop a professional working relationship with all personnelFollow Good Laboratory PracticesFollow current Good Manufacturing Practices and other safety requirementsMaster's degree in Food Science/Engineering/Chemistry, or related scientific discipline.Experience in analytical techniques, including HPLC, GC, MS, IR, ICP, or other related techniques.What we are offering:
