JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Stockroom Clerk is responsible for maintaining stock items in all aspects including expediting of stock orders, vendor questions, receive questions/discrepancies. Upon receipt the stockroom clerk checks receiver sheets for accuracy and stores parts in the proper location. The majority of time is spent utilizing computer applications. Clerks maintain the integrity of the inventory via cycle counting and correct inventory data as needed. The maintenance department is dependent upon the stockroom’s ability to maintain stock items and repairs. Stockroom clerks accurately maintain all data in the Maximo system.
Main Responsibilities
Stockroom clerks have vendor contact daily to place orders, expedite purchase of critical items and follow-up on open stock orders.
Reviews/investigates receipt questions/discrepancies for stock items.
Issues stock items. Receives and stores stock items.
Cycle counting is done daily to maintain the accuracy of stock items.
Works with Engineering and maintenance to set up new items.
Processes repair items and maintains a separate warehouse for repairable items.
Must obtain RA# from vendor, handle paperwork involved, and package and identify properly for shipping.
Maintains stockroom in a neat and orderly manner to be always ready.
Must perform other duties assigned by the Supervisor to meet department goals.
Receives, records and stores incoming material.
This position requires a high level of attention to detail, good written and verbal communication skills and analytical problem solving skills.
80% of the stockroom clerk’s time is using desktop or network applications such as Maximo and SAP.
The job requires working with a complex computer inventory accounting system.
Computer skills are a must from data entry to the day to day operation of the stockroom.
Must be able to perform a varied number of duties with high levels of interruptions.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, since this position interacts with all levels of employees.
This position requires problem solving abilities in investigating order discrepancies and expediting outstanding/rush orders.
Must also possess the ability to locate in a timely manner needed stock items when little information is given.
Provides financial reports for plant personnel, assists accounts payable concerning invoice discrepancies, provides repair parts for PM’s, shutdowns, etc.
Accountability/Scope/Budget
This position is accountable for proper recordkeeping and control of inventory.
Failure to maintain a high degree of accuracy could result in improper issuance and downtime due to unavailable repair parts.
This position is accountable for complying with applicable FDA (GMP), USDA, OSHA and Abbott regulations, policies, procedures or guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS
