In this role, you'll be an integral member of the Plant Management team, reporting directly to the Plant Manager. You will provide overall leadership in the sawmill and work closely with other department heads to ensure efficient and effective divisional operations.
The life of a Production Superintendent includes:
Ensuring the highest level of workplace safetyOptimizing the safety and production performance of the operationProviding direction and support for operating and supervisory personnel while fostering a highly effective working relationship with all employeesProviding development for supervisory personnelDriving ongoing continuous improvement opportunities and quality control initiativesDeveloping cost control programs in conjunction with Division business plans and managing area spendEnsuring full compliance with applicable government regulations and corporate policiesFor this role, you'll bring:
2-5 years of experience in industrial leadership5-10 years of experience in the lumber manufacturing industryA solid understanding of optimization equipment and processesStrong organizational skills with the ability to lead change initiativesProficiency in contemporary business management tools (MS Office) and financial principlesExceptional verbal, written, and presentation communication skillsA lumber grading ticket (considered an asset)
