Job Description Summary
JLL's Global Controllership team is seeking a Technical Accounting Director to provide thought leadership on complex and technical accounting issues and serve as a subject matter resource to influence business decisions through technical accounting impacts. In this position, you will research, analyze, and conclude on technical accounting topics, with a core focus of capturing and maximizing value to our organization.
RESPONSIBILITIESApply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to break down complex and non-routine technical accounting issues and work through analysis of issues with others in Technical AccountingAssist the revenue team in reviewing complex revenue contracts to drive consistency and process improvementContribute to the annual goodwill impairment assessment, SEC filing disclosures, and the completion of the company's audit processReview and update accounting policies and collaborate across the organization to implement policies or related materials (procedures, FAQs, etc.) to improve clarity and consistencyDevelop educational accounting materials to finance, business, and other key stakeholdersMonitor, assess, and support the implementation of new accounting pronouncements applicable to the companyWork in the fast-paced Global Controllership team with direct exposure to key leaders and executivesInvolved in special projects across the company, as neededLEADERSHIP & MANAGEMENT
Drive consistency of accounting policy implementation globallyBuild U.S. GAAP understanding with stakeholders inside and outside of the Global Finance teamEstablish and develop relationships with finance leadership at the Global level and within each of the company's business segmentsA desire to work within a diverse, collaborative, and driven professional environmentQUALIFICATIONS
Command of accounting principles and ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) issues and their resolution to finance and business leadershipExceptional research skills related to technical accounting conceptsStrong interpersonal and diplomacy skills with the ability to build consensus in a collaborative settingEffective time management skills and a proactive self-starter to operate in a constantly changing environmentEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with 8+ years of experienceCertified Public Accountant (CPA)Proficiency in US GAAPExperience performing in-depth accounting research and communicating findings and conclusionsExperience working with multinational corporations and SEC registrantsLocation:
