The Role
Sixth Street is looking for a talented Engineer to partner with Sixth Street's Trading, Operations, and Accounting teams to design, develop, and deploy strategic technology products and enhancements related to Sixth Street's trading systems. You will be working with multiple asset classes across both public and private markets within a variety of fund structures.
As part of our rapidly growing Engineering team, you will be expected to solve problems with well-architected solutions. This is an opportunity to help shape the frameworks and patterns we use to deliver quality software within our unique investment management business.
This is a full-time in office (hybrid) role based in our Dallas, Houston or Austin offices.
Core ResponsibilitiesWork within a small, agile engineering team at an investment manager with $75B Assets Under Management.Develop software components and services around Sixth Street's trading platform to delivering automated, data rich and efficient inter-team processes.Support day-to-day operations of Sixth Street's order management workflows in Allvue, from the booking of the investments to the communication of those transactions to internal and external accounting and risk systems.Deliver repeatable and scalable solutions for business needs such as large-scale portfolio restructuring, new fund onboarding, and cross-system integrations.Contribute to all aspects of our SDLC - from design to post-production support - with a specific focus on cross-functional collaboration to identify and mitigate risks early in the development lifecycle.What We Value
4+ years of experience in professional software development. Degree in Computer Science or STEM field preferred.Experience with order & trade management systems such as Allvue (preferred), Eze (preferred), Charles River, Refinitiv, Aladdin, or comparable platforms.Experience in the Investment Management industry and with financial products like bank loans, CLOs, corporate bonds, asset backed securities, equities, and derivatives.Strong combination of organizational and interpersonal/communication skills.Excellent programming skills in major languages. Python experience preferred.Track record of delivering business-critical products on time, especially in a trading desk/market-facing environment.Experience working with relational data stores.Preferred
Experience with accounting systems such as Geneva, Investran, or comparable platforms.Structured problem solver who can synthesize sophisticated information from a variety of sources into implementable recommendations and solutions.Passion for CI/CD and delivering well-engineered code in a repeatable and reliable way.Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams.Comfort working in a high growth, iterative environment.Strong prioritization and project management skills.About Sixth Street
