Grants Coordinator - Foundation - Days

1. Education: Bachelor's degree in related field and three or more years of experience in grant coordination, or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the necessary level of skill, knowledge, and ability.
2. Training and Experience: Computer proficiency, particularly in MS Word, MS Excel, and online research. Knowledge of grant research and application processes. Knowledge of government and non-government grant programs. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Ability to take initiative, work independently, and use innovative techniques and ingenuity to prepare grant applications. Ability to coordinate and monitor grant projects with Unity staff and community partners. Ability to ensure alignment among the departments during the grants process.
3. Job Knowledge: Minimum three years' work experience in the grants field. Health system or hospital experience preferred.
4. Safety Sensitive: NO In the interest of protecting the health and safety of all patients, associates, and guests, Unity Health has classified some positions as "safety sensitive." A "safety sensitive" position is any job position in which impaired performance could result in harm to the health and/or safety of self or others. DESCRIPTION:
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
1. Coordinate and support the grants requirements and implementation for Unity Health
2. Identify and develop strategies to optimize the grants administration process
3. Perform relevant research to identify available grant opportunities and evaluate the results
4. Directly involved in grant writing by coordinating with grant writers, etc.
5. Research for effective and appropriate funding opportunities
6. Oversee grants implementation according to the operational and financial needs of the Health System
7. Monitor appropriate staff activity relative to upcoming deadlines and deliverables. Ensure smooth completion of work responsibilities
8. Oversee reporting , and other administrative functions to ensure successful execution of grant process
9. Prepare financial or budget plans and allocation along with the planning and finance department in accordance with each requirement
10. Provide detailed reports to the funders and the Board of Directors of the Health System and the Foundation, through the appropriate organizational channels
11. Monitor paperwork and other related documents connected with grant-funded programs
12. Maintain records of all payments and receivables and prepare monthly records for all grant related activities
13. Provide training on grants management and reporting requirements to new staff who become involved in any grants project
14. Perform monthly and annual accounting activities relative to the overall grants program and analysis of the financial status of individual grants.
15. Analyze and report on financial status including income statement variances, communicating financial results to management, budget preparation and analysis for the grants process.
16. Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions in the flow of the entire grants process.
17. Assist in annual external audits and CMS/IRS informational returns (Medicare Cost Report and IRS Form 990) and abide by federal regulations which may be relative grant funding.
