Do you have a knack for numbers and a keen eye for detail? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you. We are seeking an Estimator with a focus on Civil/Utilities in the Construction industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing comprehensive and accurate cost estimates for various civil construction and utility projects. You will play a crucial role in the financial planning of construction projects, including electrical infrastructure, telecommunications construction, lighting improvements, and industrial projects. This is a full-time permanent position requiring at least 3 years of experience in a similar role. Responsibilities: Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction and utility projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and other project-related costs. Review project plans and specifications to determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate. Conduct site visits and gather all necessary data to aid in estimate preparation. Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and develop accurate cost estimates. Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure they meet project specifications and budget. Participate in the negotiation and awarding of contracts. Maintain a comprehensive cost estimating database for future reference and cost analysis. Provide regular updates and reports to management regarding cost estimation and project financial status. Stay updated with the latest trends, advancements, and best practices in the construction industry.Qualifications: A minimum of 3 years of experience as an Estimator in the civil construction and utilities sector. Proven experience with electrical infrastructure, telecommunications construction, lighting improvements, and industrial projects. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and legal requirements. Exceptional numerical skills and the ability to create detailed and accurate cost estimates. Proficient in cost estimating software and other relevant computer applications. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Professional certification in cost estimation or project management will be an added advantage.Interested in hearing more?
