What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities As an IT Director, you will:
Oversee and advance all aspects of Frederick County's electronic network and IT infrastructure. Develop and manage the implementation of the County's Strategic Technology Plan, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Research and evaluate emerging technologies, preparing recommendations and economic analysis for future enhancements. Coordinate system design, testing, and user training to ensure smooth adoption of new technologies. Ensure the security and stability of IT systems, overseeing system setup, operations, and data security protocols. Prepare, administer, and monitor the IT department budget, including allocating costs and managing resources effectively. Lead training and performance evaluation of IT team members, fostering a culture of excellence. Typical Qualifications
What We're Looking For:
Experience:
5+ years of experience in IT management in the public sector. Educational Background:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field highly desirable. Communication & Collaboration : Exceptional communication skills with a talent for building positive relationships across departments and with the public. Strategic Thinking : Demonstrated expertise in technology planning, project management, and aligning technology solutions with organizational goals. Leadership Excellence : Demonstrated capability to lead, mentor, and assess technical staff effectively, cultivating a productive and supportive team environment. Security Expertise : Extensive knowledge and experience in maintaining robust IT security standards and overseeing secure system installations.
