Some like to work all weekends and others don't like to work them at all. As long as it's covered, it really doesn't matter to me.Floating Requirement: - May float to ED or MS if experiencedRequired certifications: - ACLS, BLS & NIHSS required# of beds - 12 bedsRatios typically 1:2Exp or Must have skills- 2 years of experience required- Respiratory Therapist in unit 24/7- Support staff on unit: Patient Care Technician, Health Unit Secretary- Nurse manager occasionally see patients (when needed)- Need experience with basic ICU equipment- Common cases: Left Heart Caths, Coronary Interventions, STEMIs, IVUS, IFR/FFR, Temporary Pacemaker Insertion, IABP Insertion- Type of equipment utilized: GE floor mounted C-Arm and Table, Volcano System, Change Healthcare Cardiology Hemo System, Getinge IABP, No open heart or neuro surgery, no fresh transplants (could have a patient with a history of transplant).....pretty much anything else. Most common: pneumonia, vents, post caths, EVAR, surgeries, ETOH/OD, ARDS, DKA, CVA after tPA, afib RVR, sepsis, renal failure - IABP (skill not required), a lines, hypothermia protocol-Common Drips -Amiodorone, Cardizem, Levophed, Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl, Vecuronium, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Lasix, Insulin, Heparin (weight based), Norepinepherine - The number of vents vary monthly; typically 1-2 at all times. ETOH is sedated - House Supervisor (called Administrative Shift Coordinator ASC) in house 24/7*Holiday Requirements: (usually applicable May-Sept and Nov-Jan) None listed*On call: (usually applicable for procedure type positions. Ex OR, Cath Lab, Radiology) None
