Job Description:
- Assemble baskets of instruments, basin sets, and equipment using appropriate checklists and prepare for sterilization.- Assemble sets of supplies and instruments used in various clinical settings.- Check for cleanliness and functionality, such as sharpness of scissors and movement of hinged instruments.- Decontaminate, disinfect, and thoroughly clean supplies, instruments, and equipment used in a variety of procedures.- Distribute instruments, equipment, and supplies to appropriate locations.- Monitor and maintain adequate levels of supplies, instruments, and equipment.- Monitor equipment for malfunctions and perform minor repairs.- Notify appropriate staff for more significant repairs.- Demonstrate proficiency in handling and maintaining endoscopic equipment as per policies and manufacturer guidelines.- Maintain scope washers and washer adapters, checking detergent levels, and disinfectant effectiveness.- Communicate information regarding scope repairs, loaners, supplies, and quality improvement effectively.- Wear personal protective equipment as per policy and maintain supplies necessary for cleaning and reprocessing.- Accurately record data in appropriate logs.- Interact with equipment following manufacturer guidelines and processes.
