**Certifications:** - Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification in De-escalation

**Must-Have:** - Proficiency in automatic medication dispensing systems (e.g., Omni Cell) - Proficiency in electronic health record documentation, preferably EPIC - Proficient knowledge of psychotropic medications and their side effects - Ability to assume the role of charge nurse - Competence in completing admissions and discharges - Competent use of IV pumps - Competent in the care of diabetic patients

**Job Description:**

- Work in a 30-bed unit with adults aged 18-65 - Treat patients with various mental health issues including anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and dual diagnosis patients - Provide care for some medically acute patients requiring IVs, CPAPs, wound care, and diabetic care - Maintain a clinician-to-patient ratio of 1 RN to 7 or 8 patients - Use EPIC as the charting system - Be prepared for rotating shifts, though night positions do not require rotation - Floating to different units may be required - AVADE training and lead EKG training available on-site - Knowledge of local Department of Mental Health rules and regulations, including patient rights related to restraint and seclusion, legal statuses, guardianship, healthcare proxy, and court-ordered medication procedures
