Job Description
Michael Baker
is actively seeking a Technical Manager II, Water/Wastewater, specialized in complex pumping, to join our team in Alexandria, VA. You'll be a part of our team of talented engineers working on a variety of water, wastewater, stormwater and municipal infrastructure projects that include planning, design, engineering and construction support, with a focus on pipelines, pump stations, metering/flow control facilities, storage tanks, utility relocations, stormwater systems, etc.
Tasks will include the following:Review design calculations, drawings, and specifications for water distribution/transmission and wastewater conveyance systems (e.g. pump stations, pipelines, storage tanks) and stormwater pumping systems.Provide consultation to clients and develop effective engineered solutions to complex pumping environments for both drinking water and wastewater systems.Research products and materials and conduct technical evaluations to support planning and design as it relates to water and wastewater conveyance systems.Lead a team of skilled professionals with preparation of technical memoranda, studies, engineering reports, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates, etc.Oversee in the development of hydraulic modeling of water and sewer systems.Assist with technical proposals during the pursuit of key projects.Communicate effectively and coordinate with project teams including other disciplines (cost estimators, GIS, designers, surveyors, and other engineers).Client management/staff management responsibilities available for the ideal candidate, but not required.Work with junior Project Engineers and Managers who will assist you in the delivery of complex infrastructure projects.Professional Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Civil/ Environmental Engineering or related engineering field.10 years professional experience in the study, design, and construction administration of water and wastewater infrastructure (water and wastewater systems, pump stations, stormwater systems).Be self-starter, versatile and interested in working on a variety of projects.Have excellent technical writing and communication skills.Demonstrate proficiency in organization and presentation of documentation.Ability to mentor in AutoCAD and knowledge of Civil 3D.Proficiency with Microsoft Suite including Word, Outlook, Project, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
Compensation:
The approximate compensation range for this position is $125,000- $165,000 per year. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
