LOCATION: ACHN - ADMINISTRATIONSHIFT: 8:30AM - 4:30PMThis position is exempt from Career Service under the CCH Personnel Rules.JOB SUMMARYThe Centers of Excellence Manager is responsible for ensuring that requirements for Centers of Excellence are met and aligned with Cook County Health's organizational goals and operational direction. This role establishes an environment that facilitates professional growth, operational progress, and clinical excellence. The Centers of Excellence Manager develops strategic priorities and implements targeted operational supports for ambulatory's workforce to support the achievement of key performance metrics.General Administrative ResponsibilitiesCollective BargainingReview applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements and consult with Labor Relations to generate management proposalsParticipate in collective bargaining negotiations, caucus discussions and working meetings
DisciplineDocument, recommend and effectuate discipline at all levelsWork closely with labor relations and/or labor counsel to effectuate and enforce applicable Collective Bargaining AgreementsInitiate, authorize and complete disciplinary action pursuant to CCH system rules, policies, procedures and provision of applicable collective bargaining agreements
SupervisionDirect and effectuate CCH management policies and practicesAccess and proficiently navigate CCH records system to obtain and review information necessary to execute provisions of applicable collective bargaining agreements
ManagementContribute to the management of CCH staff and CCH systemic development and successDiscuss and develop CCH system policies and proceduresConsistently use independent judgment to identify operational staffing issues and needs and perform the following functions as necessary; hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, recall, promote, discharge, assign, direct or discipline employees pursuant to applicable Collective Bargaining AgreementsWork with Labor Relations to discern past practice when necessary
Typical DutiesConducts needs assessments for optimal operational functioning and staff development to determine organizational priorities, goals and objectives.Designs and implements scalable ambulatory services strategies to improve daily operations, patient satisfaction, and strategic outcomes.Collects and leverages quantitative and qualitative data for decision-making and continuous improvement.Collaborates with ambulatory leadership to enact performance improvement strategies that influence organizational culture and operations to ensure the highest standards in clinical excellence are met, such as patient rounds/standards of behavior coaching.Collaborates with Human Resources on training, performance management, and other employment related strategies.Supports leadership to plan, implement and sustain improvements using evidence-based change management modalities.Collects and incorporates best practices from the ambulatory field to ensure ambulatory staff is trained and up to date on current trends and skills.Works collaboratively with the Quality department to ensure that Centers of Excellence meet key legal, accreditation, and certification requirements.Acts as a thought partner to ambulatory leadership to continuously improve clinic and department priorities while identifying and responding to emerging issues.Advises ambulatory leadership on how to enhance and execute goals to positively influence ambulatory's key performance indicators.Supports the implementation of key strategies to improve CAHPS scores, as directed.Supports events, projects, and initiatives to help improve patient satisfaction and employment engagement for ACHN.Reports to the Chief Experience Officer and/or the Director of Patient Satisfaction & Employee Engagement.Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma with five (5) years of experience in strategic planning, business workforce planning, organizational development or change management OR Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with two (2) years of experience in strategic planning, business workforce planning, organizational development or change managementTwo (2) years of experience supervising and/or managing staff
Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree from an accredited college or universityPrior experience coaching teams, managers, and individualsPrevious experience working with a unionized workforceCertification in change management, coaching, and/or counseling
