This is an outpatient specialty physical therapy position that treats neurologic patients in a one-on-one capacity, including CVA, Parkinson’s, Spinal Cord Injury, Amputee and other neurologic conditions.

Full Time Days

The role you’ll contribute:

Evaluates and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs in the specialty outpatient setting for the neurologic population, including CVA, Parkinson’s, Spinal Cord Injury, Amputee and other neurologic conditions. Treats patients in a 1:1 capacity to implement their therapy plan of care and collaborates with speech and occupational therapy to implement whole person, comprehensive patient care in an outpatient specialty clinic.

Evaluates, develops an appropriate plan of care, and treats patients who present with bodily impairments and functional limitations as medically prescribed

Assesses patient ability to safely and effectively perform functional mobility skills and evaluate muscle, nerve, joint, and integumentary systems

Designs and implements a treatment plan of care utilizing practice standards and recommended techniques and modalities, insurance guidelines, and patient's needs

Monitors patient's response and progress to treatment and modifies treatment plan as appropriate

Collaborates effectively with speech and occupational therapy teams to implement whole person, comprehensive patient care

Documents and charges accurately, ethically, completely, and timely using measurable and objective terminology, following standards of practice, insurance guidelines and department/hospital policies and procedures

Provides discharge planning assistance and information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and follow up services

Communicates appropriately and effectively with patients, family and healthcare professionals within and across care settings and communities

Oversees the care provided by physical therapy assistants and rehabilitation therapy aides, according to established regulations and practice standards

Attends department meetings and education as required

Practices principles of professional development and performance improvements by maintaining clinical knowledge, using best and or evidence-based practices
