Senior Tax Analyst
Summary:
The Senior Tax Analyst is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and analyzing tax returns and related reports to ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and international tax laws. The role involves research and analysis to support tax planning and optimization strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and file federal, state, local, and international tax returns.
Ensure timely payment of taxes and proper maintenance of tax records.
Review and reconcile tax balances on the general ledger.
Conduct research on tax issues and provide recommendations for tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess the impact on the organization.
Prepare documentation and provide support for tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities.
Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors.
Prepare and analyze quarterly and annual tax provision calculations.
Maintain accurate and organized tax records and documentation.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in tax reporting and compliance.
Implement best practices and automated solutions for tax processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA, CMA, or other relevant certification is a plus.
4+ years of experience in tax preparation and analysis, preferably within a public accounting firm or corporate tax department.
Proficiency in tax preparation software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Strong understanding of tax accounting principles and regulations.
Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to interpret complex tax regulations and apply them to real-world scenarios.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to explain tax concepts clearly to non-tax professionals.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in preparing and reviewing tax documents.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
