Position Title: Software Engineer
Location: Pittsburgh, PA or Dallas, TX or Strongsville, OH (Hybrid)
Industry background:
Open to all backgrounds, technology background very important and banking is a plus
Roles and Responsibilities:
Candidate should have bachelor’s or master’s degree with 5-7+ years of experience in Oracle PL/SQL Developer/DBA/DA in Design, Development & Support Roles and as ETL Developer.
Should/preferred to have in experience in financial domain.
Experience in creating SQL Queries, PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, triggers, and cursors.
Experience in creating database objects like tables, views, indexes using Oracle tools like SQL*Plus, SQL Developer and Toad and other tools.
Experience in SQL and PL/SQL tuning and query optimization tools like SQL Trace, Explain Plan etc.
Experience in creating ETL Mappings and ETL Jobs to process huge files.
Experience in using Informatica Power Center and/or Power Exchange to create ETL
Mappings/transformations and ETL Jobs to process huge files.
Experience in Shell and Unix programming.
Should have worked in fast paced agile/scrum environment and with multiple/diversified teams.
Must Have Technical Skills: (Min 10 years)
PL SQL Developer with DBA/DA skill set
Java - no specific amount of years, exposure/ familiarity is fine
Summary:
Responsible for writing programs to maintain and control computer systems software for operating systems, networked systems, and database systems. Responsible for creating the software platform, and then fine-tuning the final program after it has been made.
Job Responsibilities:
• Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance.
• Design and develop software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
• Consult with engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, develop specifications and performance requirements and resolve customer problems.
• Advise customer about, or perform, maintenance of software system.
• Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures.
Skills:
• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
• Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue.
• Knowledge of computer development software, such as SQL, Java, J2EE, etc.
Education/Experience:
• High School Degree and Bachelors degree in computer science/relevant field or equivalent work experience required.
• 6 to 8 years experience required.
