Overview
Colliers Engineering & Design seeks an experienced Survey Manager to join our Survey-Geospatial Group in Massachusetts as a Department Manager. The hired candidate will be responsible for the professional, technical, management, marketing, administrative and financial aspects of the Department. Colliers Engineering & Design professionals provide Surveying & Geospatial services to a wide variety of clients across New England that includes utility owners, commercial & residential developers, state and federal agencies, transportation agencies, architects, and engineers. We are a recognized firm for providing advanced surveying solutions, with significant investments including terrestrial scanning, mobile LiDAR, and Unmanned Aerial Systems.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary technical liaison between project manager and staff on assigned projects and manage completion of technical elements on projects. Assist with project manager's efforts to prepare for and/or attend client/agency meetings with, or for PM's to present information pertinent to the project. Generate revenue through existing client base and new business development. Manage Day-to-day Land Surveying Operation including: Client Communication both internal and external. Project Proposal Preparation & Invoicing. Overseeing 2 or more Survey Crews and an office CAD team. Trimble/Leica Survey Data Processing, Base Mapping and Plan Development. New & Existing Business Development. Supervisory Responsibilities: Reviews and manages Department operations to ensure the quality of the technical products, including reports/findings, plans, specifications, cost estimates, permits, and other contract documents. Provide Feedback & Performance goals to your staff. Manage and review project schedules, budgets and QC/QA plans. Establishes effective long-range objectives, goals, and plans for Department.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Surveying / Geospatial preferred but not required. 10+ years Surveying/Geospatial experience with local knowledge of the Massachusetts market. Massachusetts Professional Land Surveyor License required. Licensure in Connecticut and/or Rhode Island a plus. Dual-license as Professional Engineer a plus. Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions. Proficiency with the survey workflows associated with the following software: Trimble Business Center. AutoCad Civil 3D. MicroStation/Open Roads preferred. Leica Cyclone and/or TopoDOT a plus.
