If you're passionate about the world of startups and technology innovation, this one's for you!The Director of Business Strategy and Operations is core to the TechCrunch leadership team and will partner closely with functional leadership peers to work on a wide range of high-impact and high-visibility growth initiatives. The role reports to the General Manager and will identify and execute opportunities to grow the TechCrunch publishing and event business through data and insights working with cross-functional stakeholders. Using a deep understanding of business drivers, latest industry trends and competitive landscape, they will lead TechCrunch's audience development and product functions. You will drive core activities such as strategic planning, product roadmap development, revenue optimization, new business/investment case formulation and operational enhancement.Your Day at TechCrunch:
Identify, prioritize and implement P& L and revenue growth initiatives, partnering with cross-functional stakeholders spanning Editorial, Events, Sales, and BD/ PartnershipsProvide strategic and analytic leadership, and be a trusted thought partner for the General ManagerDrive business and product initiatives through strategy, planning, testing, launching, and scaling stagesPartner with Analytics, Data Science, Research and Finance (FP& A) teams to translate data into actionable insightsDevelop and implement best-in-class operational processes that track progress and accountability toward carefully selected KPI targetsClearly communicate high-level strategy as well as tactical progress/status; identify and drive corrective action when needed
About You:
7 years of professional experience in an analytical role in management consulting, product management, business operations, corporate strategy or related fieldExperience in media, digital consumer products, digital publishing and/or digital advertisingLocated in the San Francisco Bay Area - this role requires an occasional in-office presenceTrack record driving business growth and product strategyAbility to conceptualize business issues and drivers and formulate hypotheses through quantitative and analytical skillsAbility to execute business process improvements and follow through with appropriate trackingExceptional communication and interpersonal skills, including communicating technical material to non-technical audiencesAbility to understand and discuss technical concepts, evaluate tradeoffs and prioritizeExperience working with a geographically distributed team, including far-shore engineering teams

The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
